May 6 Praying

In Matthew 6:14-15 Jesus connects our willingness to forgive others with God’s willingness to forgive us. In order for followers of Jesus to experience the joy of being forgiven, pray that no one who has been hurt by another will harbour bitterness or resentment in their heart. For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not

Greed can quickly take root in the heart. Pray that followers of Jesus, here and around the world, will not be lovers of money, but will work to lay up treasures in heaven. But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal,

It is impossible to experience clean hearts if we are harbouring sin and remaining unrepentant. Pray that OCCers will be quick to acknowledge their sins before the Lord and turn from what displeases Him Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin. Psalm 32:5

As hearts are revived and sense afresh the manifest presence of God, the joy of salvation is restored. Pray that God will send the kind of revival where Christians once again are excited about sharing the gospel, and the lost are eager to meet Jesus. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Psalm 51:12

welcome Everything changes in this age of pandemic. As a province, we are under a “stay-at-home” order. Currently, we are not meeting in-person, but we are meeting on-line. It is so easy to get sucked into the criticisms, complaining, sarcasm, and apathy that seems to be the default of much of our world. As followers of Jesus, we are called to be different and to live differently in this world.

Pray that OCC will continually long for the presence of God and will cry out to God, asking Him to fill every person in our congregation with the fullness of His Holy Spirit. If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! Luke 11:13

Pray that Christians the world over will present themselves to God, trusting Him to truly create within them a clean heart. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

I don't know how many books and articles have been written on prayer. I don't know how many sermons have been preached on prayer We don't need to know how to pray, we just need to pray. My prayers are a loving response to the One who loves us best, to the One who is love. He created us to pray. And when I forget this or my prayer life turns

A Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi Lord, make me an instrument of your peace! Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as
