Reading Through the New Testament

In 2023 we want to read through the New Testament together.
This plan by the Navigators takes us through all 260 chapters at the pace of a chapter a day (about 5 minutes a day).
It’s a 5-day/week plan, recognising that there are always times when we need a day or two to catch up.

25 December | Advent 4

Thank you for joining us on-line.
OCC is made up of people who are meeting in-person and who are meeting on-line.

Welcome to OCC online | 25 December 2022

God calls all of us into his presence;

  • He calls us to be together both with him and with one another;
  • He calls us to wait with and for him;
  • He calls us to serve & bless others – those who are part of God’s kingdom and those who have not yet responded to God’s grace

As you prepare to watch our service video, we encourage you to take a few moments…

  • Get your coffee or tea, or maybe some lemonade this summer. Settle in, be still…
  • Take 2 or 3 deep breaths… in and out… breathe,
  • Invite the Lord to make himself present with you as you watch – he is with you – it’s just that often we are not aware that he is.
  • Focus on the reality of God’s Holy Spirit not just with you but in you.

Today in our in-person service, we are doing something much more interactive with the smaller group that will be present.

This online sermon is part 4 of our Advent series.

Peace

Come Lord Jesus, be our peace.
In a world struggling to be born anew in the midst of brokenness, tragedy and fear
We wait for You, our Prince of peace–
Your peace calms wind and storm, chaos, and war;
Your peace unites, aligns and restores all things;
Your peace guards our hearts, transcends mortal understanding. (Phil. 4:7).

Come Lord Jesus, that we might share Your peace.
Grant us the courage to be peacekeepers and kingdom seekers,
For You call and equip us to be people of peace,
Your Shalom reign is here and on its way!
Enwrap our hearts, our lives, our neighbourhoods, and cities with
Your peace on earth as it is in heaven.

Come Lord Jesus, establish Your peace.
“Shine upon those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (Luke 1:79)
Assure us again that You have given us Your peace (John 14:27)
and Your peace will never leave us!
AMEN.
