Jesus used scripture in resisting the devil. Pray that we would be so rooted and grounded in the scriptures that we too can use it as we resist the devil and his dark schemes. 4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” 7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the

Pray that every believer (in OCC, Orillia, our world) would remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood (people) but against spiritual powers. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

Paul's prayer for the church in Rome - living in a dark time - is that even in the midst of the darkness they would "put on the armour of light." Pray that as OCCers we would clothe ourselves with God's righteousness. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armour of light. Romans 13:12

Jesus, in John's gospel, is called the light of the world. We are living in a world that, in many senses, is becoming increasingly dark. Pray that as God's people (individually, as OCC, as the church in Orillia and as the church around the world) that we would be people who live in the light of the gospel. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people
