Bible Reading

Daily Bible reading is a good thing.

There is no one way to approach daily devotions, but if you are thinking for reading through the Bible in a year, Bible Gateway has several reading plan options.

The Bible Gateway app provides each day’s readings for your preferred plan. You can read on your phone, tablet, or computer, or simply use the daily references and read in a physical Bible.
Bible Gateway has many reading plans. Here are the main ones for reading through the Bible in a year.

  • There is the Old/New Testament Plan where each day’s readings contain one passage from the Old Testament and one from the New.
  • The Chronological Plan is designed for daily devotions in chronological order, at least in the order we think the stories and events happened.
  • Another option is the Beginning Plan that starts with Genesis 1 on January 1 and ends with Revelation 22 on December 31.
  • The Historical Plan guides the reader through the books of the Bible in timeline order of their writing.
If you have never read through the entire Bible, why not make 2021 the year to do that.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve this year is going to look different than we planned.

  • The weather outside is frightful… cold and wet right now (3:20pm) and we are getting more rain and possibly freezing rain and then maybe some snow.
  • We are moving into a provincial lockdown beginning on boxing day.
  • Are you feeling bummed out about not being able to celebrate Christmas Eve outdoors at OCC? (We are too, except for the part of being cold and wet!)
  • But none of that will stop Christmas.
  • But we are still celebrating the birth of our Saviour.
  • Join us from the comfort of your home…
have a cup of cocoa, coffee, tea
    maybe light a candle

We are going to be meeting on-line. Log on to our zoom room just before 4:30pm, so we can celebrate together as a church family.
