praying over our city

This month we are going to be praying for our city.

When [Jesus] approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If you had known in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes” (Luke 19:41-42 NASB).

When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices, and when the wicked perish, there is joyful shouting. By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is torn down (Proverbs 11:10-11).

When you think about the individuals and families in our city who are missing a relationship with Jesus, do you ever weep over their spiritual condition? Pray that we, as individuals, as OCC and as the church in Orillia, will have the same kind of loving heart Jesus does for those living around us.
